For years I've thought about where and how to hang a Radar Dome. I wanted a clean, neat, serviceable and yet strong mount without giving up any cockpit space or image loss. Mounting it on the mast was never a consideration, as it would trash the headsail, and on a tack would not display the image accurately. Transom mounted units would still result in inaccurate images and lost cockpit space. Over a period of years I consulted with several marine and aircraft design and manufacturing engineers in the development of what has become "Radar On The Level." It is easy to install, and maintenance free. I use 316 stainless steel tubing and hardware along with aircraft grade Delrin washers which provide long service life in a harsh marine environment. The Delrin washers receive the tension load from the mounting bolt and washers thus dampening the swing, which in turn extends the life of the radar signal cable. We are currently manufacturing a Split Backstay model and a Single Backstay pole. The standard pole length is 12 feet adjustable to your specifications. We soon will offer an inside mount for all models.
You have my guarantee that "Radar On The Level" is manufactured to the highest standards on the market today. Good Sailing, Michael W. Donoian President |
